Programs for Low- or Fixed-Income Residents:
- PG&E Low-Income Energy Partners: Provides qualified income-qualified customers free weatherization measures and energy-efficient appliances to reduce gas and electricity usage.
- PG&E CARE Program: Provides a 20% discount on monthly bills for qualified low- or fixed-income households and housing facilities. Qualifications are based on the number of people living in your home and your total annual household income.
- PG&E FERA Program: Provides a discount on monthly electric bills for qualified low- to middle-income households of three or more persons. Qualifications are based on the number of people living in your home and your total annual household income.
- PG&E Cooling Centers: PG&E partners with community centers and other public buildings to provide the elderly and other low-income citizens with a shelter during hot summer months when the temperature gets unusually and dangerously high.
- Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program: Financial assistance with energy bills and weatherization through the California Department of Health and Human Services' Low-Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP) program.
PG&E Programs for All Residents:
- Rebates: Financial incentives for many energy-efficient appliances and remodeling projects.
- SmartMeter: SmartMeters are automated gas and electric meters that have many benefits, including allowing PG&E to access your meter remotely and enabling customers to monitor their energy usage via the Internet. SmartMeters are currently being deployed in the Bay Area.
- California Solar Initiative: Go solar! Financial incentives for installing solar panels on your home.
- PG&E's ClimateSmart Program
Voluntary program that allows customers to reduce their carbon footprint by balancing out their greenhouse gas emissions associated with their electricity and gas usage with environmental conservation and restoration projects.
